KCBS HD-2 NOW BROADCASTING

Starting today they started broadcasting in hd2. But its dead air. I wonder what the format is going to be? Hdradio.com listed them as a variety chr in the past. But now I'm wondering if they are going to put something else on that subchannel. I hope they put a dance hits format on there. LA really needs an energy 92.7fm like sf. Sd, and Sf have two dance station, why can't la have two? KBIG hd2 is down again. You can't rely on dance hits on that channel when its not broadcasting it. Oh well, im hoping and wishing!

So few people have HD that I doubt it matters too much. No offesne if you're an early adopter type.

What I'd like to see, speaking of CBS, is to have the K-Earth 50s stream online, instead of just on HD. I have no intention to ever buy an HD radio, and I'd love to be able to hear this stream. The KROQ one is available online, so why not KRTH?

(And put some live jocks on both of 'em, while you're at it.)

If only 300,000 to 500,000 radios have sold total, how many could there be in LA? 100,000 at the absolute high end would be a guess. Then fragment that with the various formats and there are really very few listeners. Not a big return for all the marketing that has been done.

Which raises another question, in the future will autos come equipped with HD radios (as they now come SAT ready)?

Interesting if your guesstimates are correct. That is not a lot of radios. I have also heard that there are reception issues and that not all locations can receive the HD signals so that is another factor as to why sales are so low. Also I don't see a lot of models and configurations to choose from.

Has anyone seen any high end receivers equipped for HD? The ones I see are mostly table models. Is this going the way of Quadraphonic and AM Stereo?

It's set to be a teen oreinted CHR. American idol crap

Speaking of HD, what about KTWV? This is the last CBS outlet in LA not broadcasting even a HD Signal, I own a radio, I know. Anyone heard what they're doing in regards to getting KTWV equipped?

I read somewhere that a condition of XM/Sirius merger would be inclusion of HD radio on any sat radios of future. That would give HD a boost.
