Order of the Eastern Star is nothing bad, my grandmother was a member for about 70 years. I think they mainly did fundraising for scholarships and things like that, but she never talked about the charity she did so I’m not sure.

That's Ted Jr. This link (via archive.org) shows he was helping his father out with his business back in 2004 while still studying at the University of Arizona (including designing the first incarnation of the KCDX website).

No, Ted is running political spots (0:60 per hour max) on all of his stations, including Tucson and Tubac.

Edit: Ted also has some things in his playlists that are unique and obscure. You may have run across one of those selections.

The political ads — pretty much all :60s — are unique. I would have to bet they are the only :60 political ads in circulation in radio and the clients have to custom-make them. This isn't the first cycle where KCDX has done one political ad an hour, either.

Actually heard two :30s this morning on KXKR in Tucson...a first (or, because one of the candidates couldn't afford to create a :60...)

Regarding KXKR South Tucson.

I really would love too see some close-up photos of the KXKR directional array before it gets replaced for 101.3 (which will be much less directional). The 11.5 kw ERP array physically had a 26 dB null...

Despite being at a Bustos site KXKR is still a Tucker station.
