KCEB/54 being acquired by KYTX/19 owner

Kinda ironic, seeing as KYTX got jilted by the CW almost nine months into their UPN affiliation. It was a bad business move, in my opinion, seeing as you would be lucky if you got KCEB OTA within the market thanks to their "Full-Power, Short Stick" approach of covering the market, limiting them to Longview coverage only, compared to KYTX having a wider reach.

I predict that KYTX will make the smart move of moving KCEB to their tower, or at least replace their MYTX subchannel with a simulcast of KCEB.

If you look at the STA that Estes filed with the FCC to transmit with reduced power, they claimed at the time that they were in negotiations with a party that was commited to investing the needed capital into the station to bring it up to full power. I hope that London has the resources to do this. They certainly made the committment to be the first in ETX to offer HD news.

I suspect that they will move KCEB's antenna to the KYTX tower in conjunction with installing a new 1000kW transmitter.

Wouldn't surprise me KCEB programming replaces MYTX on KYTX's sub channel and maybe move some of the programs that are on MYTX to KCEB.

KCEB is airing CW+ which already has a full supply of syndicated programming provided by the CW. I sincerely doubt they'll be touching it.

Moving KCEB to the KYTX tower, though, is certainly a possibility.

I hope that London does not use this as an opportunity to cut costs and "consolidate" KCEB and MYTX into a single channel, thus reducing our channel choices.

I would not be surprised to see KCEB put up as a sub-channel on KYTX until they can get KCEB's full power facility built.

Once the maximized KCEB facility is up, this should give us opportunities for additional sub-channel programming on the KCEB signal.
