In case anyone was wondering what was happening to Jess Feather's CP for Cambria, he just sold it to Adelman Investments for 30K. They managed by only four days to file a 302 before the CP expired. To get it on air ACAP (as cheaply as possible) they moved the transmitter site to a residential neighborhood in town (I believe a translator is already there) and dropped the ERP from 6.4 kW to 300 watts. Obviously, this is a temporary move as the signal only barely covers the town.
The original TX site (the KTEA site) was too crowded and plans to extend the tower were shelved when the coastal commission and SLO County turned the request down. BTW, KTEA is back on the block so we'll see if there are any takers. But it will be interesting to see what the new owners of KCJZ decide to do with it or how they program it.
