I've heard KCNS-TV started their Chinese programming on 4/21/07. Does anybody know where I can get more info on that? (schedule, air personality, ratings...etc.) I've checked the station website, but nothing was mentioned.....

I think this will bring much needed competition to the Chinese programming on KTSF-TV.

Any thoughts?

Didn't KCNS used to be Chinese before they went Shop@Home Network before 1998? Also does anybody remember we used to have 3 Chinese TV back then?

KTSF 26 - Cantonese/Mandarin
KCNS 38 - Cantonese (Used KRON 4 Newscast back in 1993 dubbed in Cantonese)
KPSF 66 - Madarin at Night, HSN during daytime.

A few years ago I was mucking with a 12" set with rabbit ears and I flipped ch 28 from San Jose and they had Spanish on. I threw the set out, because the sound broke. Is that station still on? I've got Dishnetwork and they don't carry KCNS. Back in the day KUDO CH 38 produced local shows and Bob Foster co-owned KUDO.

The new KCNS 38 or Sinovision TV, so far so good.

This is good news for chinese viewers particually Mandarin speaking viewers and bad news for KTSF 26. Bay Area viewers has been waiting 5 years for this new local chinese station after KPST 66 went down.

I cannot believe KTSF 26 is airing those funny ads showing the news team 18 years of hard work. Also, adding news clips on their new website. Too LATE.

Adding the news clip is copying LA 18, a intl channel in LA like KTSF 26. They have been doing this for a year or two. For the ads and claiming to be no 1 TV station, starting in 2002, that is TRUE when no other free station at the time.
KTSF 26 must be the worse channel back in the 80s and 90s and cannot even beat KPST 66 and KCNS 38.

A commercial channel for KTSF 26.

The biggest disappointment must be Cantonese speaking viewers losing a TV station over Mandarin programming. In 2002, KTSF 26 try to make up the mandarin viewership lost by airing Mandarin shows and give up on Cantonese viewers. A SUDDEN CHANGE. When KTSF got competition (KPST 66, KCNS 38), they continuously grab Cantonese viewers airing one ATV series after another. In 2002, only 1 ATV series each year. Also, 50%+ of KTSF drama series is from China. The same old custom king/emperor or historical character series.

Anyone feel KTSF 26 is affiliated with CCTV China???

I think so. In 2003, 2004, 2005, KTSF aired Korean series like KMTP 32. In 2006, China want to BOYCOTT korean tv series and KTSF 26 did the same thing. The year before, they aired FULL HOUSE, LOVE STORY IN HARVARD, LOVERS IN PARIS, STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN, DAMO, SAVE THE LAST DANCE. I rather KTSF show korean series than those loudsy mainland china series. The same old storyline, KING/PRINCESS/FAMOUS LEGEND.

KCNS 38 is very good news. I love their korean series and fairness choosing both mandarin and chinese viewers. Without KCNS 38 and KMTP 32, KTSF feel they are the KING OF CHINESE ENTERTAINMENT. Watch it or turn off the station. They control chinese television.

KCNS 38 is just like the new KPST 66. Very good news for Chinese viewers in the Bay Area.

Don't forget that KTSF is owned by some rich white lady. Before informercials they used to air movies and TV shows. KCNS did air Asian programming before doing the all Shop At Home thing but still did carry Dr. Gene Scott on the overnights. I don't know when The Great Doctor sold KVOF (King's Voice of Faith). Scripps Media was the owner for the Shop At Home period. I do remember in the late 80's the call letters were KWBB. I can remember Dr. Scott sitting in his easy chair with his duck slippers on while smoking a cigar. KSTS did air Doc Scott too for a while in the 80's.

I heard an ad spot on their sister radio station, KXJX-AM in San Francisco Bay Area, that KCNS-TV will expand their Chinese Broadcasting hours starting 6/9 with Mandarin and Cantonese newscasts.... New hours will be 6pm-Midnight.

KMTP 32 will be expanding their schedule from 7-8PM weekdays starting July 1st. They will show a drama series, mostly Korean or China.

The new KCNS 38 just prove KTSF 26 is going DOWNHILL. For the first time KTSF is canceling a tv series half way through. Strange Tales was orginally 36 episodes, and now..only 18. The new schedule change came out after KCNS and KMTP announce their new schedule.

KTSF programming department really need better management. The current Mandarin speaking staffs really turn KTSF into a BAD IMAGE.

i am actually watching the shows on kcns.
I want to know what the korean soap from 7-10 that is on Saturdays is called in english.
or does anyone know the actors' or actresses' names?
I know it is called fu mei nu ren.

Thanks

The English title is Miss Fox. The actress was in Spring Days, the actors was in another series on channel 32 Fashion 70.

Do you know what is the chinese title to the 7PM series after My Love?
