KCOR 1350 is now KXTN

Hadn't noticed the call change of 1350 in SA from KCOR to KXTN until seeing it in today's Radio Insight (1/19.) Guess they are still running Univision America?

The station had been KCOR since going on the air in 1946.

KMYO also debuted on 107.5. Perhaps a move of Tejano to 1350, and Yo! to 107.5? What then becomes of 95.1, a return of Latino Mix?

They are still Univision America, heard a liner as I tuned past earlier. What-will KXTN 107.5's calls and possibly format be next? Interesting for 1350 to change like that when they didn't have to.

It looks like a clerical error when filing for new calls. KGSX was supposed to become KMYO for the new "Yo 95.1" format. Instead, this is what happened:

KCOR 1350 -> KXTN
KGSX 95.1 -> KCOR-FM
KXTN 107.5 -> KMYO

Univision has filed applications for all of those calls to go to where they were supposed to be except, maybe, for KMYO.

So was the call change of 1350 a mistake? And why change 107.5?

It looks like a mix-up of some sort. The KMYO calls were supposed to go to 95.1 but were assigned to 107.5 in error. From what I've been told, the FCC's CDBS system has been undergoing changes lately. Whether the error happened at the FCC or Univision, there's a good chance that had something to do with it.

Also, within the last three days, the calls have gone back to their original (or intended) homes. KXTN-FM went back to 107.5 on Tuesday, and 95.1 became KMYO the same day. KCOR returned to 1350 the following day.
