KCPQ Reporter Gets to the Point

Highly inappropriate and unprofessional. I'd suspend him without pay for 3 days. (Same goes for producer, EP and editor who allowed that to get on the air). Unbelievable.

No sugarcoating. No spin. No hoity-toity false smiling. Honest. Concise. Right to the point. I think I like that kind of reporting.

That colorful "description" was indeed part of the pre-recorded piece that the reporter had teased live.

Well, KCPQ is a Fox affiliate... ::)

That sounds like one stupid-ass newscast...but I don't know if the lame-ass powers that be of that sorry-ass station will take the necessary steps. So, that guy will probably hold on to his job, and not be an unemployed-ass news guy.

The reporter was probably expressing his personal feelings, which no reporter should do when he or she should be reporting news. I typed "probably" because he may or may not have been forced to use the silly truck description at the beginning of the recorded segment of the newscast.

...and it's coming out of my local FOX affiliate. I rarely watch KCPQ's news. Actually, I don't watch a lot of Fox station newscasts anyway.

Well, since the time on the screen was 9pm, it wasn't airing on KCPQ, but on KZJO (formerly KMYQ, KTWB and KTZZ) - "JoeTV" - the MyNetwork Station in Seattle (that runs My Network programming at 12 midnight...). The station apparently is targeting the younger male audience, so "Big Ass" fits right in with the Station's image...

Well, KZJO airs a newscast with the same staff as KCPQ at 10pm. So it was likely we could've heard "big ass" again during 13's 10pm newscast.

So KZJO dropped the KMYQ calls, yet they're still a "My Network" affiliate and don't refer to the network in their branding? That's a big ass diss to My Network! :D

KZJO is owned by Tribune, who also downplay CW affiliations...'nuff said ;D

And, KCPQ is one of the tamest Fox affiliates in the country. Seattle is a reasonably serious news market and even Q13 Fox News is much less "colorful" than other Fox affiliates around the country...but perhaps that's changing...
