KC's Gen-X 99.7 Flips To AC "The Point"

If they are/were like the other Gen-X stations around the country, I think they're missing the demo. More 80's music, not 90s. That's why they're not making it.

Wouldn't this be 99.7's fifth format in less than five years, going back to KY?

KCMO FM would be a perfect choice. KMAJ in Topeka if you can pick it up plays Holiday music and maybe KKJO in St. Joseph

PPM has been really good to KCMO-FM. I can't see any need for them to flip to all Christmas when the holiday season starts. Then again, I've seen a few stations that didn't need to go Christmas do it anyway. Some do as well or better than before while others do worse.

Went down at noon local time; new call letters expected next week to replace the current KGEX:

Does this count as the first "Gen-X" format failure?

I call it a programming failure...the station was awesome, they just wanted talk on FM...had Star 102 not switched like it did, gen x would have stayed.

Stupid decisions by radio corps who don't understand how to make radio work anymore...its sad
