KCTO change

The Vine Connection has broadcasted for at least 10 years from North Carolina... Now it's on KCTO 1160 and 99.3/100.5 Kansas City, according to the Wikipedia page for KCTO it's only on 2 hours per day.
The rest of the time, KCTO and it's FM repeaters rebroadcast Radio Maria Spanish (Catholic Spanish programming).

The Vine confirmed it's in KC, on this GoFundMe (which has really taken off).

Audio quality on the KC trio isn't good, real tinny and over compressed. The stations sounded like that even under Hosanna Christian Network, which still exists online.

For anyone interested, here is the Wikipedia page of The Vine's former home in N.C..

This was really odd. I noticed it this morning, and it was still airing commercials for businesses in North Carolina, but apparently no longer has any signal there.

If it’s going to get a signal of its own, that GoFundMe isn’t going to help it. It's only raised $50. Granted, if it’s goes non-commercial, it might not need to pay for its signal, but it would seem to need to change its sponsorships if it doesn’t want to have to get a new signal in an auction.

The Vine Connection has leased stations in an area of North Carolina for the past decade or more moving station to station every couple of years or so. Although it is not always the case, such moves are due to finances mostly. I somewhat assume this might be the case. The move to the KC metro is a surprise and leasing only 2 hours a day seems to indicate they are not cash heavy. The station is known for very reasonable rates. I'm guessing 2 hours a day would run them about $500 a week at most. I'm afraid the GoFundMe is likely not going to go up much. The people who know the programming and would support it are halfway across the country. The support base would still be in North Carolina and likely many see little reason to support the Kansas City signal. The founder seems quite genuine and on the level motivated on providing a service. Thus, I wish her well.

I did hear a weather forcast for Kansas City though but it doesn't mention anything else about this area on-air except occasional IDs.

It's also odd that the majority of the programming is Radio Maria Spanish, Catholic programming.

The listener groups are most likely completely different between Spanish Catholic and Urban Gospel...

The Vine seems to have either shut down or downsized. I haven't heard it on the KCTO AM and FM repeaters in a while. They don't seem to stream online anymore, and the GoFundMe has no donations now. It previously had $50.

KCTO and it's FM repeaters now run Radio Maria Spanish 24/7. Very poor audio quality.
