KCVH-LD, channel 30, Houston

KCVH-LD is on the air running a 1kHz tone and color bars. Programming will start up sometime in January. I'd be curious to get some reception reports. The transmitter and antenna are at the American Tower site in Missouri City, with a somewhat oblong pattern towards the northwest and east, sacrificing coverage to the south.

Gridlock-outside antenna or rabbit ears?
Rabbit ears. I don't have the best setup -- one window facing east. Your reception will vary.

Any guess what type of programming?

More of the same I would suppose...

Was wondering when KCVH would make it back on the air. Was last seen in February (in analog) running a graphic that Aleluya TV was "coming soon." Guess the definition of "soon" can vary quite a bit.

Any sign of the new digitals on RF 29 or 31, also supposedly coming "soon" ?

Expect Spanish religious.

Just what we need!

Deregulation at work. Stations don't have to invest in programming anymore. So if it pays the bills it goes on the air. Hence, we have shopping and infomercial channels and stations that just sell off their air time in blocks and run disclaimers that they are not responsible for the content. If the licensee isn't, then who is???

Thanks for the updated information. We're running a DVD for now, with local programming to come early next year. And yes, the programming will be religious in nature, in Spanish.

My understanding is "The Tube" was branding for the station with call letters KTBU, which is channel 55. So I don't think that specific branding will move to channel 30 (unless the two channels swap call signs, which is unlikely).

But it's possible that channel 30 might pick up The Tube's old format. (I'm guessing it was classic TV?) The branding would just be different.

Why did they selected channel 57 to be KUBE, shouldn't channel 57 be owned by Thomas Abraham with channels 53 and 28?

Just to frustrate you.

Why on earth are we resurrecting old threads from several years ago?

The "Tube" branding was dropped when KTBU was sold and flipped to Mega TV. There has been no indication anywhere that another station would pick up the moniker.

KUBE is an entirely different operation.

Check out the channel lineup at houstondtv.wordpress.com to find out what the current offerings on Houston OTA television are. Or go to www.rabbitears.info.

I am kind of frustrated with channel 57, because well I don't know what to say about the films they air. Kind of felt frustrated that channel 67 airs American english films, I wonder why channel 61 doesn't air American english films? That interfere channel 67 with channel 61, sometimes channel 57 because they had an ownership of shopping stations.
