Kcyb-lp 101.7

KCYB's 9 watts at 92 meters might get out about 10 miles with a listenable signal. The flat terrain helps.

KNTE will be the biggest headache as it can put a surprisingly good signal into Cy-Fair, often strong enough to stop the car radio during a scan. KSAM-FM and KAYD also put in appearances from time to time.

I'm about 13 miles from the KCYB site, so iffy if I'll be able to hear them over KNTE. I don't anticipate any first adjacent issues with KOER.

KCYB is now on the air. Better signal than expected at my location 13 miles from the transmitter. Was running New Age music at a 9:30a check. Signal is mono. Virtually no problems from KNTE, at least this morning.

Wednesday afternoon KCYB is still running a loop of Ambient music; probably as a transmitter test. No announcements or ID's.

Driving near Beltway 8 the signal is on top of the 101.7 co-channels, with KNTE chopping in at times.

KCYB might be tougher to hear at my location when first adjacent KOER launches.

No sign of KCYB in Katy, only Baila 101.7 on the frequency.

Switchover from KNTE to KCYE is about highway 529 on Fry road. I did hear an ID for KCYE - but like you I think it is stunting. KNTE is a monster - I expect it will be a problem KCYB when skip is present.
