kday 93.5

i heard they are trying to get the baka boys.....no good they are old lol..they had tito he was wack
so who knows they need fresh people

Ive heard Tito on KDAY already doing the lame "guess what im saying" bit he did for years at Power. They should hire someone "OLD"...theyre playing OLD music arent they? So who better than someone that knows the music and the demo they're targeting. That seems to be the problem with LA now, NO actual air talent, just some kid fresh off the street that doesnt understand that radio is an art form. As a listner, i wanna hear someone tell me a story about the artist, that they actually experienced, not something that they read on TMZ. And for that you need someone like The Baka Boys.

I agree With Hip Hop Junky in that they should have on air talent.. and good talent.. I dont think bringing the baka boyz is a good idea cause just like Tito they're proven failures that's why they're not here in LA anymore.. There's good talent here in LA but unfortunately Radio Execs only focus on the one's that kiss their ass to get them on AIR!! Sadly but true....

I dont specifically want the Bakas...btw, one of the reasons they left is because of management issues, not because they're show wasnt working...as I recall, that show was in the top 5 in LA in theyre daypart...im sure someone has the specifics. But I would like someone with history here in LA telling me about...say Biz Markie, and not some young nobody telling me how he first heard Biz on a camera commercial, or the cab commercial. I'm sure it could be done, if it doesnt work, they change it, like they do everything else.

I totally understand ur vision. But what I heard from people inside POwer the Bakas Left Power back then bcasue they didn't agree with the changes at that time where power went from it's House format to solely Hip Hop; n they gave management an ultimatum saying that if they flipped they would leave! as if management would say Noooooooooooooo Please Stay...
It's good to be nostalgic about the originality of Kday but In my opinion the Baka boys had good numbers cause they had no competition back then, Now a days u have a sea of frequencies in LA catering to all types of music.. I say it's time to pass down the torch to someone else not necessarily to a young booty but someone that will endorse and know the KDAY culture...

well i definetly agree that up and coming talent has to be nurtured and let grow, but you still need someone to anchor the station...because unfortuneatly, the station is hampered by its signal strength. And you will need a strong staff to overcome that, if they dont do that, they might as well stay jockless or maybe have "GUEST" jocks. The jockless aspect seems to working well for Jack.

If you don't know why the Baka's left, don't speculate. And if you don't know what they're doing, don't count them out of the game. They have 2 syndicated shows with about 120 combined markets. The show has been running for 10 years and is one of the most successful syndicated mix shows in history. They just added a pop version of the show that has been growing leaps and bounds in the last several months.

Not like they're sitting around waiting for their next gig. They're on and probably wouldn't want to add more on top of their cushy gig.

If you don't know, now you know....

I heard a live show last night with Joey Boy who was most recently doing mornings in Phoenix for Power 98.3 and a girl, I think she said her name is Brandy Garcia. It sounded like they were auditioning. Nothing groundbreaking just your average gossip and they were plugging some concert ticket giveaways.

i tuned in and i wasn't feeling them, they are not funny a morning show should be funny u want to wake up and laugh something that's going make your morning better, this guy and girl didn't do that they were plane BORING it seem like there was no chemistry.if i wake up on the wrong side of the bed i want to drive to work and forget i woke up mad and laugh this chick and guy didnt cut it. NEXT!!!!!!

I think they need give the job to some local talent and there is local talent that would fit great on that station. Stop bringing in outsiders.

If its the same Brandi Garcia...then she was fired from a station in Houston for playing a song at some club event not related to the station....heres the link to the story.

Interestingly enough ex-kday jock Devi Dev is now at that station in houston.

I am loving the Baka Boyz Allstar Hitmix here in Phoenix, Az! ;)

Now all we need is someone to do a syndicated electro-pop, house, & rhythmic remix mixshow, playing today's house, electro-hip hop, club hits, and modern booty bass remixes.
