Yeah...Like that's gonna happen. (sarcastically)
KDAY was below a 1.0 share when they were current based mainstream urban so you can easily conclude that they're gonna keep it old school.36james said:Also why would they debut a brand new morning show, if they are gonna change formats. :![]()

One of the 103.1 signals is in Baldwin Hills, as is the LA area 93.5. They are, technically, nearly identical. But the 103.1 site is back from the "edge" of the flat area where all the sites are, while KDAY (and KJLH and KRCD) are nearer the edge and look down over the LA Basin, while KDLD has some blockage. Advantage: KDLD.
But KDLD is simulcast on KDLE, giving them partial OC coverage. So the twin 103.1's cover more LA metro population than the LA metro 93.5.
Remember, also, that 93.5 is a simulcast with KDEY, 93.5 in the general IE market but with LA metro spillage.
As Radio Researcher says, why would they switch a 2 share format for a 0.5 (less in PPM) format that was on a better-covering facility?

98.3 was moved from Johnstone Peak following the fire. It was high, but low power so it went a long way with a useless signal. At the new Duarte (57 at the 10) location it is lower, but full power. Ratings increases were immediate.
103.9 is still on one of the 1460 AM towers, although transmitter and antenna improvements were made (but no change in ERP).
