KDBN Morning Show

Any thoughts of The Regular Guys? I hate to say this, but their show won't last on KDBN. The last time KDBN had a syndicated morning show, it didn't last. Remember Walton & Johnson??

These "Guys" are about as much fun as watching water evaporate. They don't sound like THEY even enjoy the show, so how can we?

Too bad Jim Breuer isn't available. I would rather listen to him and his friends talk about stuff while high than listen to many of the shows in DFW.

Can someone please tell me what that is they say when they take a call?? It sounds like Pa-T-Tong. The callers say it back to them too - it just seems stupid. I gave them a week now I think I am going to have to file them away in my bad radio show file along with David Lee Roth, Opie & Anthony, Lex & Terry and Walton & Johnson. Am I missing anoyone?

I am not asking this question as smart a..but what would make a good morning show for this format? More music intensive with less talk or what taletnt would work?

I listened to them for 5 years while living in Atlanta and have always enjoyed the show. Here is where Peteetong came from

The truth of the matter is that like the Rosetta Stone, Peteetong was stumbled onto by accident. During Regular Guys 2.0, a stoner named Mike called into The Regular Guys show to tell Larry and Eric about his amazing ability to invent words off the top of his head, i.e., the phone-screener wasn’t paying attention that morning. Peteetong was one of them.

Quite simply, Peteetong is a greeting. Its intended context falls somewhere between a formal phrase such as “Good day, sir” and the more casual “sup, dawg, for real. Ya feel me? You ride tha marta bus, bit*h?

Billy Madison isn't syndicated, he's local and he plays music every morning.

Adam Corolla? :)

If this is in fact a AAA, I would stay away from political shows (both liberal and conservative). From what I understand, the format is all about the music and caters to a higher IQ. I don't think a blue morning show fits. You must remember that women listen to this music, too.

I think Cumulus chose this music mix because of the DAVE station in Atlanta, and put on the Regular Guys because they were cheap and they were already with Cumulus. I don't know where they found the voice guy, but he sounds like he should be on a beautiful music station. B-O-R-I-N-G. Forget the music. The voice guy is a snoozefest.

I hope they get more advertisers soon because the adult entertainment and tattoo parlor spots do not fit the format at all. This thing may be called "Quality Rock" but it isn't. The music is fine, but it is not a rock format.

On the flip side of boring... I heard Kaden on 93.3 on Saturday afternoon and he was way too upbeat and yelling instead of talking. I had to turn it off. He sounded like he was doing PM drive on a Top 40 station. Give him a Xanax and keep him away from The Red Bull please. ;D

:D You are joking, right? Cumulus is not going to pay for anything on KDBN other than a pm drive shift (when/if they even fill that). Interesting that Kaden was on a weekend shift but not doing a shift during the week. I figured he would be the new pm drive guy (but I have been wrong before). ;)

Agreed. A bit too upbeat.

Maybe they could play some older (short) audio clips throughout the day so that DFW listeners know what things like this mean. Sometimes its like joining a conversation that's been going on for a while when you don't know what the participants have been talking about.

He's also GREAT at reading poll %%% off of prep sheets and trying to make the question his own

How can we forget Ron and Don. Now that was a truly crappy show.
