KDEE-LPFM GENERAL MANAGER passed away on December 1, 2021

KDEE radio program director and general manager Marvell Reed unexpectedly passed away Wednesday morning December 1, at age 52.

Reed took over as manager of the radio station in 2008, succeeding the late-Aubry Stone. He helped build the station and expand its reach in the last 13 years. He was responsible for changing the focus of the station and implementing increased community engagement.

The California Black Chamber of Commerce (CalBCC) announced Reed’s passing on its Instagram account.
 
I just heard this news today. I spoke with Marvell about the station and how well I thought he was doing his work. He was a very nice person. RIP.
