Most oldies/classic-hits stations are dropping 1960s music and focusing on '70s-80s-90s. Art Laboe's show is mostly 1950s-60s-70s but it attracts a high percentage of younger listeners. Charlie Tuna's show is '70s-based. David Eduardo will have to tell us how those shows fared, ratings-wise, on KDES. David can also describe the ethnic makeup of Palm Springs. Because of differing ratios of various ethnic groups in different cities, programs that are successful in one city may not do well in another. But the station still airs Bob Malik's Sunday-morning Beatles program. Why would KDES can Tuna (sorry) and Laboe but keep the Beatles?
