Haha...what a joke. So much for the HD Broadcasts of Rangers games. So much for changing affiliations to i/PAX. Well here's the big news taken directly from their website:

What's New !

For weeks, kdfi27 has told our viewers it would CHANGE THE FACE of local television. The wait is over! Now you can see that the face of kdfi27 is ... YOU!

That's right. People from all over North Texas, young and old, become the face of kdfi27, introducing programs, appearing in promos, and showcasing their towns.

"We'd be nowhere without our loyal viewers," said kdfi27 promotion manager Keith Paxton. "So it just makes sense to invite them on our air. What better endorsement of our great shows, our beloved Texas Rangers and Dallas Stars than the fans themselves! As we say around here, kdfi is you! Catchy, huh?"

In addition to the dozens of folks already appearing throughout the day, kdfi27 invites you - yes, you - to join in. Send us an I-mail and tell us what your favorite show on kdfi27 is, and why. Our address is [email protected]. We may be calling you to be on kdfi27! From "King of the Hill" to the Texas Rangers, Andy Griffith to "Fear Factor," the shows you like are on kdfi27! And it's only the beginning ...

So be watching kdfi27 - home to shows you like, teams you like -- and people like you!

As one viewer so eloquently put it ... "kdfi ... is me! I like that!"

So do we, folks. So do we.

Damn, it's just like 96.7 The Twister's announcement. It won't be the same but it turns out the same. What kind of market is this where there are false advertisements on TV and radio?<P ID="signature">______________

Gee golly willickers! It reminds me of the old weekday afternoon hosted cartoon shows. Since KDFI is going that route, why don't they rehire Poppy and Bonkers?

Commercial, with very little cared about but the dollar, and how to keep the audience for more than 4.5 minutes so they will here one of our high priced commercials.

Ed, My kids loved Poppy and Bonkers.

Besides, it's just another attempt to recycle something that used to work instead of being creative.

Maybe Jerry Hanes needs to dust off the Mr. Peppermint outfit for KDFI-- or maybe we can find another Icky Twerp to do Slam Bang Theater--

HOWEVER now that I can take my tongue from my cheek for a moment-- the truth of the matter is-- when we look at local television...even if they are recycling programs, such as Fear Factor, and Andy Griffith, or putting together promos for The Rangers and the Stars-- why not bring in local faces to do it... its no different then having local sports figures or celebrities doing promo sweepers on the radio-- how many times have you heard someone from Watauga saying.. "HI... I'm SO-n-SO from Wautaga and I K-LOVE my Oldies"... or insert station tab here.

Whats the big deal-- it gives the local station a connection to the local community and that community inturn tells their friends and family to tune in to catch them doing something GOOD on TV instead of all the other things we see with people getting into trouble or whatever-- it seems that the NEWS on TV is more negative and the kicker at the end of the news cast is the warm feel good story-- why not make a TV slot-- sweeper-- promo with your nieghbor.. makes sense to me... KDFI... not a bad move-- old school as it is!

Just a thought!
