FOX 4 in Dallas finally updates their tired old website to www.myfoxdfw.com. The new site is heavy on flash video, news, weather and traffic as well as blogs from almost all of the anchors. Hey, at least it's a step in the right direction... ;)

It appears to be a generic template...but its a step up then the mess they had before.

It has been out for awhile now.

Other MyFox Sites currently up
WNYW: myfoxny.com
KTTV: myfoxla.com
WFXT: myfoxboston.com
WTTG: myfoxdc.com
WOFL: myfoxorlando.com
WBRC: myfoxal.com
WGHP: myfoxwghp.com

Least those are the other ones that I know of.

Apparently Murdoch has ordered the O&O's to update and upgrade their websites before they get totally left behind by other stations in their respective markets, many of which are very aggresively building their internet content.

Here in Houston Fox O&O KRIV/26 has a rudimentary site up, but word is a full blown operation is on the way.

All the Fox O&O websites will have the same look. It'll take a while for all the stations to get the new sites up and running. I would be that by the end of the year the Houston site will be operational.

Don't hold your breath on KRIV in Houston. This website project translates into initiative, work and more responsibility. Those are the three work ethic principles KRIV senior management ALWAYS tries to avoid. That is one of the most disfunctional media operations on the planet. Talk to any lower level employee over there and they will tell you (off the record of course) the total lack of morale and the distaste and complete disrespect of senior management beginning with the GM. That is why you have never seen a website from KRIV. Hell, you haven't seen much of anything representing innovation or creativity over there ever since the GM arrived there in 2000.

The articles I've read indicate the new website initiative for the TV stations comes straight from Rupert Murdoch. In other words, the folks at KRIV will get a good site up and running in the next year or Fox will find people who can make that happen. Either way, KRIV will have a true website.

I can atest to what adguy says. I have a very close friend at KRIV. This person describes the place as a "terror factory". Bebel, the GM is out to get anyone that has an original thought over there and is not encouraging the website project although he knows it is a Fox dictate and has a time table for completion. Supposedly a weekend news anchor is pregnant with no husband or known boyfriend and the GM is VERY SYMPATHETIC. Why is this guy still around?
