Yesterday I heard that Jammin 92.5 was going to make some huge announcement on their morning show this morning. I didn't get a chance to listen, but when I was listening later this afternoon the DJ said something about the station taking over another station in the Denver market. Anyone know what exactly is happening???

Infinity Denver buys another (unknown) Denver station. What's really going on???

Well, when I was listening to Jammin' this afternoon Rafael meantion a bit about getting a memo that Infinity has bought another Denver market station but couldn't release any futher information. I then later heard a pre-recorded message from Infinity Denver GM Keith Abrams that they had bought a station that would team up with Jammin' to bring Denver listeners a better listening experence and that more news would be coming in the next few days.

This is all interesting. I've searched All Access, Billboard, Radio & Records ect..and no information about what's going on over at Infinity Denver.

I guess we just wait for more details that are forthcoming soon.

I'm guessing it is a promotion.
Perhaps "buying" a gas "station."
Radio stations do these kinds of stunts all the time.
"We're your full-service station."
"We're all pumped up."
That kind of thing.

I'd say you're on track. Unless you're just a complete classless operation you don't announce radio station buys and/or sells on-air. The general public doesn't give a flying _____ who owns the stations they're listening to. The whole "An Infinity broadcasting station" crap is an ego stroke. Also, there's nothing on Kool or Mix making this announcement (not that I've heard), so I'm going with the gas station promotion route too.

This was my first thought. They are saying they are "taking over" a station in Denver. Most likely taking over a gas station - considering gas prices are the talk of the town, I would bet this is it...

Yes, much like Alice did a year or so ago...Maybe have a day of selling gas for 92.5 cents a gallon (even $1.925 would be nice.)
