I'm not so sure how much of a win the new tower location is. 100.1 was originally at a greater Hight from the KDKA TV tower and even though it could be heard on a car radio n Weirton Wv they had trouble getting the signal to the east of the city where most of the audience was. Height = distance but power = penetration. That's why it was moved to the tower in Baldwin Boro. With most listeners using less sensitive portable radios the signal wasn't good enough. The KD tower is only about a mile from Mt Washington so I don't see it making any difference from the original problem. I think the most appealing factor was the free tower space. Pretty much the sane trade Sheridan Broadcasting made with the 105.9 for 106.7 + $20 million trade deal back in 96. They made the trade and took the cash only to find that most of their listeners couldn't hear them anymore.
