KDKA-FM LINE-UP

According to Bob Smizik's blog (http://community.post-gazette.com/blogs/bobsmizik/default.aspx), when The Fan debuts in a couple of weeks, its on-air lineup will look like this:

6-10am: Jon Burton, Paul Alexander, and Jim Colony
2- 6pm: Joe Starkey and a co-host "from out of town."
6-10pm: Gregg Giannotti, from WFAN.

Smizik says that Starkey has resigned from both the Trib and ESPN-1250.

Where's Ellis from, Ambridge? Does that count as "aht of tahn"?

Smizik's article doesn't account for mid-days at all.... Sporting News Radio runs Tim Brando 10A-1P and the "2 Live Stews" from Atlanta 1-4. Not sure either of those would be a good fit here.

I'd assume Todd Wright's national show will run at 10PM, he's great.

I have no enthusiasm at all for the morning show. I don't remember Burton as having any personality at all. Alexander is certainly not "mr. excitement.", to say the least. It will be nice to hear Colony on the air again, but he'd be much better off in the afternoon with Starkey.

I am very enthused about Starkey, though, he is truly knowledgeable, can back up his opinions, and is engaging and entertaining.

How about Tony Bruno, or does his show already air in this market?

Burton does imitations and will be attempting a lot of humor on this show. Alexander adds little.

Of the new station and lineup, Foxx said, “This has been one of the most exciting times in my life. I’m working alongside a team of passionate, compelling, and wonderful on-air personalities. The Fans of Pittsburgh will be truly served 24/7 by this radio station.”

Interesting... there's a name missing that we all expected to see.....

Is the above from a press release?

Who the heck is Vinnie Richichi?

In his blog today, Smizik says that The Fan will be local, 24/7, they just haven't finalized 10pm-2am and 2am-6pm.

Vinnie is a native New Yorker (who sounds like one) and has been working in Seattle. It will be interesting to see how Pittsburgh reacts to him.

It will also be interesting to see how chemistry develops since they have three two-man shows with people who have not worked together before.

Seibel's "Sports Nation" show on ESPN Radio was OK (that is now the name of Cowherd's TV show, BTW). His co-host was former Pirate Orestes Destrade, who clearly would have been more comfortable doing the show in Spanish (he did the Marlins' Spanish language broadcasts for a while and started at ESPN Deportes). Seibel has a major-league sound, but he wasn't funny or fiery. Might have a hard time making a dent against Madden.

The NY thing puzzles me, 4 hours midday and 4 more hours at night.

the 937thefan.com [which redirects to 937thefan.radio.com] is now up and active.

Oh and its a Wordpress Blog - well technically a Wordpress VIP "website" - which is explained here http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-get-wordpress-vip-blog

They midaswell have just redirected it to their Facebook Fan page.....

CBS changed the B94 name to 93.7 The Fan on their live stream player. I'm removing that station now... CBS is outta their minds (they better NOT mess with any other of their CHR stations!).
