KDKA Tribute?

Kurt Toy said:
I believe the WJAS thing is from 1955-57 when it was a dual ABC-Mutual station. 1320 was still a CBS outlet in '52.

Did CBS move over to KQV before it became an ABC O&O? And was WCAE ever a CBS affiliate? I seem to recall hearing Lowell Thomas' CBS news program on 1250.

I remember at one time during the forties when WCAE was tied in with the Red Network. After the war (WWII) there was a big promo with ads all over the place announcing that KQV was "going" Mutual.

As Kurt Toy himself pointed out three years ago, In 1945 WCAE went from Mutual to Blue-ABC and KQV went from Blue to Mutual then, exactly eight years later, KQV dumped Mutual to affiliate with CBS, causing longtime CBS outlet WJAS to go to Mutual. Some years later, of course, KQV became an ABC O&O. At some point after all of this, the CBS affiliation went to WEDO-810 in McKeesport, though I'm not sure of that timetable.
