sorry my post was vague. i listened for about an hour this morning on my way in and they never did say where they were the only reason i knew is because of a guest they had in the studio. nothing at all...why bother? the race today which is the one no one cares about doesnt start until after 5 the crowds are going to be staurday and sunday. why would they be there when literally no one else is there? and if they are going to be there tell us about it...interview a janitor..anyone. just bashing i guess on my part but these guys do the stupidest things.

Terrible station. Terrible morning show. Terrible shame for a once legendary station :'(

Look in the dictionary under mismanagement and you'll find KDKB.
other definitions include: dysfunctional

anyone want to add some more?

If KDKB would change formats most of their audience would go to KSLX or KUPD. It would stregthen the cluster. Other companies would look at it that way. They are just canabalizing their audience.

Two words: Bob Weaver. People want to beat on Chuck, but, as the folks on the street say, "it is what it is." Bob is the one who continually deep-sixes the efforts of a very select and minutely small group of people who want to do good radio at KDKB. He hired Buzz "THE SHOWMAN" (TM), he dictates the spot load, and EVERYTHING at KDKB is about hitting the bottom line. That's not so different from every other station in town, but the PROSTITUTION of the product is truly magnificent and mind-numbing. Ratings go down, Bob adds units to hit Sandusky's pie in the sky projections and make sure that he makes more money than he ever envisioned when he was learnin' at NAU. Bob doesn't give a sh#t about anything or anyone but himself and his dream of replacing Chuck. He will cut the heads off good people and never look back. Again, that doesn't make him unique. But a word to the wise: if you continually float at something approaching a 2-share, something wicked this way comes...

the mighty Peak would benefit from a kdkb flip. :D but what format should kdkb flip to?

agreed. although my mole is no longer there this is exactly what i was told. he picks fights, pits employees against each other to suit his needs and never delagates responsibility. his hands are on everything includnng the music. i also heard that he hired morning girl marcie because she looks good. he thought she would be a good marketing tool, nevermind shes bad on the air. does chuck not know that all his years of work are coming down to this mess?

"Meet the new boss, same as the old boss..."

Chuck and Bob both are coldhearted businessmen with zero regard for the human factor.

Chuck might be a kindly old man, now, but in his day, he was as cold, cruel and unsympathetic as stone. There's still many good stories floating around out there about how people were treated back in Chuck's day, too. It's interesting to hear the same kind of talk, now, about his protege.

They are so far removed from the true spirit of rock and roll, it shouldn't surprise anyone that they killed Phoenix rock radio.

Their legacies will be mud.

since the exit of Tim and Mark, the station has been down. it looks like the Paul and Torgy show was the worst performing morning show to date including the new one. the station also (according to my pd) started playing matchbox 20, goo goo dolls and softer product which chased away the male core of the station. there are too many rock stations here anyway, what would be a viable choice for a new direction? as a sales guy, i would vote for hot ac and a quick flip to all x-mas! the money i could make! there's room for two!

Setting the record straight: Joe Bonadonna played Train, Goo Goo Dolls, etc. The problem with the station was that "mis-management" had no idea that the product was tired and no longer viable, and most importantly, Tim and Mark were the ONLY REASON that anyone tuned in to the mess that was KDKB. Bonadonna knew it, but no one chose to listen. It was a huge cash-saving move ($$$$$$$$) to dump the boys and put Pete Cummings in mornings. Chuck shoved it down Bob's throat, and the deal was done. Someone tried to change the culture of negativity into one of hope and positivity. Bad move, dude.
