KDOC-TV has been sold to Ellis Communications for just under $150 Million.

Ellis (Bert Ellis) once owned Raycom Broadcasting, and is the current license holder of UPN Affil. in Reno, KAME-TV (Although LMA'd to Cox)....

The news is at BroadcastingCable.com

Any history on what Ellis might do with it?

Speaking of strange and unusual TV personalities, wasn't Dr. Gene Scott on this station a lot as well?<P ID="signature">______________

Still is! Weeknights, 10-11pm; Sundays 7-10pm. Dr. Scott lives on, even a year after his death. The station even has a larger than normal bug in the upper left corner just for this show...it reads kDOCtv.

KDOC has always been a little different. The station started in a converted furniture store across from Disneyland in 1982, and was home to Wally George, the Poorman, Request Video with Richard Blade (among others), and a host of truly strange and often downright silly low-budget shows. It was also the home of horse racing recap shows for almost two decades.
