KDWN Changes

Heidi Harris is moving to mornings on KDWN. This could help what has been consistently the lowest rated daypart on the station. An interesting angle to this move is that Heidi will now directly compete against her former co-host Alan Stock.

KDWN has stolen Dr Laura from KXNT and will air her show live from 10A-Noon. IMO, this is one of the best shows to put up against Rush because a political show would never stand a chance against him.

I am curious what show KXNT will put on to replace Dr Laura. KXNT will miss her because nights on that station have been booming ever since she has been part of their evening lineup. They are currently #4 25-54 7p-Mid.

I dunno, maybe Michael Reagan, maybe Mike Gallagher, maybe steal Jim Dallas from KDWN for more local flavor.
 
I know political talk doesn't stand a chance against Rush, but I can't believe Dr. Laura is the answer. Maybe my personal opinions of the show are getting in the way of sound judgment, but wasn't that nagging shrew exposed as a hypocrite years ago? Whatever happened with her crazy son in the military who posted on Myspace about how he loves to kill people?

If the 10-noon slot is open, why didn't KDWN bring back Neal Boortz live?

It will be interesting to see how the Heidi vs. Stock battle goes. KDWN destroys KXNT when it comes to the news product, so she's got a leg up there. But Stock has been doing this for a long time and already has the audience built up. It should be fun to watch!
 
So, does this mean they're getting rid of the all news morning? That'd be too bad from a listener standpoint, as it's the only thing worth listening to at 5:30am... Guess I'll go back to listening to Mike and Mike.

I heard a promo on 840 for Dave Ramsey. I use to listen to him in Memphis, and I think his show is great....far better than Dr. Laura.

I liked Nate in the AM. I hope he's not totally gone.
 
they did a promo for dave ramsey. I thought the economy was great according to sean and rush, why do they need a financial psycho babbler? maybe he can help the station meet their promises to the troops. I just got off the phone with award wining reporter Elfman of the RJ and they haven't got back to him on what the sold out concert that drew 3000 people at the 9000 seat Orleans brought in.
 
I guess they had to do something, the morning numbers were not good and the 9 to noon host sounded like all she was doing was reading one boring story after another with no calls.

Let's face it: with Rush(KXNT), O'Reilly(KDOX), & the 3 sports stations, there isn't much audience left for KDWN between 9-11am. Too bad.
