KDWN Vs. KDOX

I was wrong about KDWN and KDOX swaping news networks. I thought I heard a USA network newscast on KDOX, but they still run Fox news and still call themselves "Fox News 1280". In fact I heard a sweeper on KDOX voiced by JD that said something like "Remember whenever you hear Fox news you know you're listening to Fox news 1280 KDOX".That sweeper must have been meant to create confusion with KDWN. Not a bad idea considering both stations now have a LOT in common.

Obviously KDWN has the far better signal and now has a news department. But K-DAWN and KDOX share many similarities. Both stations run Fox news and they both only feature (mostly second and third tier) syndication with no local talk shows. They even both carry Jerry Doyle. The new show KDWN runs after Michael Savage sounds exactly like something you would expect to hear on 1280, KDOX has some shows such as Michael Medved that would fit right in on the new K-DAWN.
 
I like KDOX's style and prefer it greatly to the new KDWN actually. And they do have JDW on in the afternoons to give it a local flavor. If KDOX had more local talk it would become my new listening station at work.
 
They even both carry Jerry Doyle.

Jerry Doyle is NO longer on KDOX. Michael Medved is now LIVE at Noon and Jerry is at KDWN.

KDOX also DOES have a local talk show "The Wells Report" with Jon-David Wells" from 3p-6p.

So KDOX certainly has their act together and has better programming than KDWN and sounds better than KDWN. They were Fox News first and they carry it much better than KDWN. KDWN couldn't come up with a plan of their own, so they copied KDOX (or they are trying to).

The sweeper that plays on KDOX that states "When you hear Fox News, you are listening to KDOX" isn't made to confuse anyone, it's simply stating a fact and setting the record straight. Listen for yourself and you decide....
 
I must have heard a technical glitch when I heard USA network news going into Jerry Doyle on KDOX overnights a couple of nights ago.

You convinced me, I'll set a preset for 1280. It wouldn't surprise me if I like it more than the new K-DAWN.
 
kdwn is back in the 80's instead of the 60's... they have crap news....it lacks guts....why don't they get norm or knapp to do commentary? they have second rate syndicrap..with the exception of savage.. and maybe levine....they have crappy promotion...the station has no image....beasley is a bore..
