Keep an ear on 102.3 Concord

I've just been informed by a reliable source that:

-Vox has switched 102.3 FM to classical a/o 2PM today

-It is now being broadcast thru the studios of WTPL, Vox has come to an agreement to broadcast 102.3 thru their studios.

-Harry Kozlowski owner of WCNH-FM/94.7 (Classical LPFM) is not real happy.

.....Stay tuned for further developments.

Might that only be temporary though? I can't imagine a new, commercial classical station starting up anywhere these days.

Doesn't Vox still own WTPL?

No, Vox is no longer the owner of WTPL, it has been owned for several years by Great Eastern Radio LLC. Jeff Shapiro, a former partner of Vox is the principal owner of Great Eastern Radio.

It is almost certainly temporary, no commercials are running. For the moment Concord is in the unique position of being served by two non-commercial FM stations. Take that, Boston!

A quick check of 102.3 FM yesterday PM and this AM reveals nothing but static coming thru. ???

This is a breakthrough/cutting edge format.

Tired of hearing the same ole songs over and over?
Tired of stressful news and traffic reports?
Tired of blahblahblah from your talk station?

Clear your head and ride home stress free with Static 102.3 8)

I was kinda wondering why when I checked early this morning around 5:30ish why there was no classical and instead I was getting tropo from WBAB from Long Island, NY.
