Keep an eye out for WBZY

Their ratings are at the 2.0 area. Second lowest rated CC station in the market, behind WGST.

I'm predicting a flip by the time the year is out, at the latest.

So hear me out...

WBZY tower is located between Carrollton and Newnan. Their signal is powerful across the west and southwest metro. These are the areas that are not covered that well by WSB and WYAY. Now, considering that, would it not be smart to simulcast WGST on this FM tower to cover a part of west and southwest metro that currently has limited access to news/talk radio?

If now, perhaps WILD should dump the 96.7 signal and simulcast on this signal. I believe 105.3 covers downtown Atlanta better than 105.7 does. Sounds better to say WILD 105.7 & 105.3 anyway.... :p

I know your my weather friend on FB, but I don't agree with this assertion.

One reason for WBZY's poor ratings is it doesn't get into buildings in Gwinnett, the county with the largest Hispanic population in the state, and also the fastest-growing Hispanic population in the state.

Tech Question: Is there too much signal overlap to allow 105.7 and 105.3 simulcast? I know deregulation loosened up a lot of things but I believe there are some rules about this. Y 106 and Y104 had some overlap but the FCC allowed it.

Apparently WYAY and WYAI (104.1) just barely missed city-grading each other. This was back when 104.1 was still in LaGrange.

105.3 is an "Urban Stick"

If you look at the coverage map, you might come to that conclusion. But in reality, the 105.3 signal booms across Atlanta and into the northern suburbs. It's much stronger than Kiss 104 although the 2 towers are on the same field. It would be a great signal for Wild, whose audience is about a third African-American.
