KEFM goes Christmas

Even with an official press release, I have to wonder if KEFM's all Christmas format is some sort of stunt. It's too darned early for this stuff.

The website (http://www.961kefm.com/main.html) still shows the old slogan, although the "Just Played" list reflects their Christmas playlist.

For the record, the last two regular songs played before the Christmas tunes began were: 4:47 AM local time "Right Here Waiting" Richard Marx, 4:55 AM "Everytime You Go Away" Paul Young. The next song listed at 5:07 AM is "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" by Jessica Simpson.

Anyone have a copy of the press release?

People who play these kinds of games with listeners' minds are ridiculous. These stunts are just flat out stupid. Shoo listeners away who don't want Christmas music, excite those who do, then flip back? It just sounds totally weird. Who knows? With the way radio is today, I wouldn't be surprised if KEFM stayed with the Christmas music until December. Time will tell.
