KEGL / KZPS PD has been let go

Is The Eagle making a big announcement today?
Another one? No, I doubt it. After the huge announcement on Friday, and all of the excitement that has persistently swirled around the market after said big announcement on Friday, I don't think our hearts could take another jolt like that, any time soon.

Man, Charles. I am plumb giddy over the news. I figure most others are, too.

Watch what you write. You could poke an eye out with that Red Rider pen you're using there.
I probably should've typed my response to Charles using the ever-popular sarcasm font.

Never heard an announcement on The Eagle, haven't heard diddly squat from Kramer, and no one in the market seems to know what the hell we're even talking about.

In other words, it apparently wasn't as big of an announcement as it was originally hyped to be.

What?!? You mean the "Fabulous" Jennifer Tyler, I mean Jen Austin of course, isn't sitting in front of a golden mic there in the plush, lavish Townsquare broom closet, I mean gorgeous downtown studio on S. Broadway? On the square? Did I mention...in downtown?
You know KLTV across the street is envious of that golden microphone! :)

If you want live, local, and even give you enough of your very own airtime to sell your non-running, just needs a filter you think, 20 inch Hyper not-so-tough push mower, just dial up the three 9's on your radio dial. As long as you're in Tyler, Lindale or Mini-get-down-ola.
I enjoyed listening to KMOO from time to time traveling out east and back, good mix of classic country and some red dirt. I wish more companies would do that. If KMOO could pull that off in a small town, I don’t see why an operator in a big city with a lot more revenue availability could not.

It’s a bit ironic that there can be a lot more live and local programs in a small town versus a big city. When I was young, I longed to DX the Dallas and Houston stations to hear better radio. Now that I’m older, I stream small town, independently-owned stations. They are far more entertaining!

As far as KEGL is concerned, it was refreshing to see a focus on more live and local content in the form of their shows. Unfortunately, we will probably be getting less of that.

KEGL should either have a morning or an afternoon talk show, not both. (Was Ben and Skin on mornings on the old ESPN 103.3?) Other times, the playlist is decent.

No, they were on 105.3 since launch. What i can't remember is if they were on Live 105.3.

Ben and Skin are probably the only team that have run the grand slam. They started at KTCK and were on KESN for a short while, then KRLD-FM and finally on KEGL.
Wasn't it Pugs & Kelly for mornings on Live 105.3?

Plugs & Kelly (may She rest in peace as she recently passed away in the last few months) were the midday show sandwiched between Stern and Russ Martin until Stern moved to Satellite Radio then they were sandwiched between Chris Jagger after he moved from KDGE 102.1 The Edge to KLLI Live 105.3 during the short lived "Free FM" era and Russ until the very end.
