Well it's 9 days and counting, what will the new format be??

[You gotta be.........................................kidding

Talk about suicide, and a totally worthless, ill-thought move (no offense to you, Jeff...I like that kind of music, too!) but to split that little moon-pie piece of an audience THREE ways (KRNB, KSOC and KEGL) would give each station, what, a 0.5 total to share?

At least you could immediately steal a 2.0 without even trying with oldies or light AC. Then again, we wouldn't want to create any ill-will with our biggest competitor. Purdy must want to keep all his friends at both places instead of RISKING going head-to-head with Infinity/C-BS.

I highly doubt this is what the new format will be. Remember, I'm trading secrets. ;)

My guess is that D/FW will be getting its first Hungarian Folk Music station come Dec 26th. Rumor is, Irving Harringan will be coming out of retirement to host the morning show as well ;)

Oh yeah... all Lawrence Welk, all the time. Groovy!

Another cr@ppy country
Boring liberal / conservative talk (take your pick)
Back to Spanish

Nothing really new or creative that people will actually listen to(take your pick)

OK, let me think what I've got to trade...I'll throw in Porter Randall's original 1941 headphones he used at TSN/KFJZ, a stack of transmitter logs from KDNT that lead up to its last day on the air in 1993, a tower anchor piece from KRRV/KIKM, the building sign from KIXL, about 100 radio station banners, the complete "Hi-Fi Club" archives on CD, a 1982 sales packet from KAFM/KAAM with a signed letter from Pete Thomson, a 1962 aircheck from KCUL-1540AM, hmmm...I'll see what else I can dig up. ;D

the building sign from KIXL,

Pre- or post-vandalism?

Hopefully you won't dig up any empty Mad-Dog or Night Train bottles from the derelicts who slept on the front porch at 1409 S. Akard...

Very much "PRE"-vandalism...former KIXL jock Bob Johnston saved it when, years later, he was on the county committee that bought the building and had to get it renovated. (Lucky coincidence!) I'm merely giving it a nice, enclosed place to live until we can find a museum or proper place to permanently entrust it to!

Way to go, Mike. I'd imagine CVD would probably appreciate seeing that piece of history since that was where he got his start.
