KEGL

Your argument fights against itself because you're not taking into consideration how playing this particular era of rock music on The Eagle cannibalizes the sister classic rock station in town.

The music on KEGL is being scheduled by the same person who does it for KZPS. So he knows what each station is playing.

Patrick Davis is overseeing KEGL's current programming.

Incorrect. Dominic 'Zakk' Zaccagnini has been Program Director of KEGL and just KEGL since last July and remained with the format change.

My post was about the person who schedules the music. The same person is listed for both stations.

My source was Mediabase. You can check me if you want.

Mediabase is not an accurate source for that information anymore. Look at how many stations are completely blank within iHeartMedia, which owns Mediabase. I can also attest to personally knowing people at stations who are not doing what the listing says they do.

The majority of iHeart stations music scheduling isn't even done by "Music Directors" anymore, who simply are in charge of songs to add/drop. The scheduling is done by members of the national programming team whose only jobs are to produce music logs.

I never said he was a music director, program director, or even physically in Dallas. Just that one person does both stations.

I think I’m better off listening to Alt 103.7 or 88.1 Indie

When you're playing Alt songs that never even charted on the rock charts at all - making people sit thru that to hear the same Motley Crue song you play every other hour, the TSL has to be ZERO.

I'm just as frustrated with this iteration of the Eagle as the one that they changed to the Freak from. There are rock staples (Halestorm) that had MANY #1 rock hit songs, that they ignore. To double the frustration, we essentially have 2 alt stations now, and a few other stations that play the oldies rock songs from bands like AC/DC. It's like the Eagle is trying to be anything BUT what the Eagle actually is.

F••k it.

I don’t compare KXT to the Eagle. KXT has very little overlap with the Eagle. The most “abrasive” KEGL core artists I’ve heard on KXT are Black Sabbath, which I’ve heard only a handful of times in the twelve years I’ve listened to KXT, and Queens of the Stone Age…and for QOTSA they picked up their latest single at the time and dropped it after a few months.

KXT just won’t scratch that metal/hard rock itch. It’s a much more tasteful “pop rock” station than all the others are, though, and it’s not even close.

Big jump for KEGL in the May book, thanks primarily to the Mavericks.

They almost tied with KVIL. Can they hold on to the audience after basketball season ends?

I assume those are men 25-54? The Mavs + Ben & Skin are very strong.

In spite of all the railing about the music, it's doing pretty good.

Woody is doing what we expected.
Had to delete the numbers as a violation as what is allowed by Nielsen.

The Woody Show is not debuting on KEGL until July 8.
