Keith Olbermann Sues Current TV

Are you Olby critics such fans of Al Gore that you think he's blameless in this operation?

I doubt Al Gore and/or Joel Hyatt are totally blameless, but c'mon--they weren't just leaning on Olbermann's notoriety. Along with that $50 million contract, they made partner, hoping he'd help build the channel's overall news coverage cred. Given how much Current has spent to build up primetime news programs--it seems mighty suspect that all of the alleged production and prep problems took place predominantly for Countdown. And even if somehow that were the case--we're talking about Keith Olbermann, who's previous off-the-air reputation had already been brought back to the spotlight thanks to the buzz from the book Those Guys Have All The Fun.

So when Olby goes on a late night talk show comparing himself to 'a $10 million chandelier' without much consideration for the other shows/hosts he was supposed to help develop, I think its pretty fair to question just how much of a team player he was.

CNN wasn't built overnight...

And Keith, of all people, should know this: he was a sports anchor with CNN when the network first went on the air in 1981.
