Kellerman out at ESPN 1050. Does he join Mike Francesa?

Francesa is good enough on his own. With that said, nobody could fill Mad Dog's shoes as Mike's co-host.

Besides, if anything, WFAN would probably appoint the co-host gig (if they had to) to one of the people they auditioned last year, most likely Kim Jones. Then and only then would I actually expect to see Michael Kay overtake the Fan in afternoon drive.

I can't think of too many worse potential pairings than Mike and Max. Unlike Mike and the Dog, whose strengths and weaknesses somewhat complimented one another, Mike and Max have mostly the same strengths(extreme, sometimes overbearing knowledge), and the same weaknesses(Egos bigger than NYC). Max has been openly disdainful of guys like Mike that aren't into to the new ideas of sports, and Mike has been openly disdainful of all the new ideas in sports, like Sabremetrics, etc. Max loves Boxing, Mike is disdainful of it, and pretty much doesn't allow discussion of it on his show. The FAN seems to be humming along pretty well, with a deep lineup and bench, and I wouldn't change things if I were them, other than bringinging on Kim Jones full time if she's willing. But Max on WFAN is just a bad fit, IMO. Last time they tried to "go young" they broadcast "Ferrell on the Bench". How did that work out for them?

To be fair, I think they very last time WFAN aired a show appealing to the younger demos was a show called "Sports on Wax".

As far as Ferrall, one can argue his WFAN show (which was syndicated) put him on the map.

Sports on Wax was a horror show. Ferrall on the Bench was successful elsewhere, and put Scott on the map, but not so much on WFAN, certainly not for the station. I like Ferrall, and I like Max. I just don't think Max would be a good fit with Mike, or on WFAN altogether.
