Kelly and Kline

I was wondering this the other day, thought maybe somebody could shed some light on this for me. Why did Kelly and Kline from KWSS, and other places after that, stop doing a show together? I know Bill (Kelly) is on the air in the bay area. Anybody know the history of that? Just curious!
 
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Bill Kelly screwed over Kline.

After they came to X-100, they went to WTIC-FM in Hartford, Conn. Then made their triumphant return to SJ at Mix 106.5 KEZR.

When the people at Mix 106.5 decided to get rid of the Kelly and Kline show, Kelly stayed behind as Kline was shown the door. He should have stuck up and said, "We are a team, we have been together for a long time, been across country and back, if he goes, I go!"

But ......Noooooooo! He stuck around started going by Bill. Then they extended Marla's shift. She was 10am-2pm. Then they moved her to mornings along with the 10am shift. Changed the shows name to the Bill and Marla Morning Show.

At least that is the way I remember it.
 
That's too bad - I never heard K&K after X-100, but I thought they were a funny team, and had good chemistry. They could have fought their way back from San Jose to the San Francisco market. Lamont and Tonelli managed it, and I think Kelly and Kline had more talent. If what KIFR said is true, it doesn't necessarily excuse what Kelly might have done, but a steady paycheck will make you do funny things.
