Kelly Clarkson - Never Again

Wondering what people's thoughts are on this one... Not impressed with the song at all, and wouldn't have added it if it wasn't Kelly. So the question is... What do you do with a song that you don't believe in, from a core artist? Had a really hard time adding this one... Anyone else?

**The word on this one is that it was Kelly's call to go with Never Again, cuz she wrote it. Should see a Clive written Kelly single dropping quicker than usual.. they're looking at end of May.**

Well, if your audience likes it, you still should play it.

Personally I like the track. Very cool. She's like a modern day Pat Benatar in a way.

But radio will be taken by storm when Usher drops his single next month.

"Never Again?

I probably wouldn't have added it either if it wasn't Kelly, or at least I wouldn't have added it so quickly. I personally like it, and think a lot of women can relate to the lyrics. I'm glad she didn't do another "Since You've Been Gone" or "Breakaway" type pop song. I guess she's trying to show a little diversity, which is good. This song is a nice addition to her body of work.

never again......it's different than any other song that's out there right now. i mean if you step back and just look at top 40 in general everything seems to be going back 80ish. avril's "girlfriend" has the same beat as toni basile's "mickey", fergie's "fergalicious" has that j. j. fade touch to it (think the song "super sonic") and maroon 5 (as much as i love them) have that "p.y.t." beat to their new song. so i give props to kelly for making music that she likes and being somewhat different than everyone else (even if the vibe is kinda pat benatar-ish). i think older "kelly" fans will relate to this one more than the younger ones.

i've heard all the kelly vs. clive rumors and to be honest with ya i'm glad that kelly has stuck with her gut feeling and i really can't wait until the actual cd comes out. mostly just to see how different it is from "breakaway".

kelly isn't really like any other artist out there because she can sing any genre of music and sound good doing it. the rumor is she wants to make a country/blues cd next. so that should be intersting as well.

not to meantion a cd with the success that "breakaway" had only comes once in an artist lifetime. i think the best that the label can hope for is half that success for this new cd. that way they won't be disappointed if it fails and happy if it passes "breakaway" in sales.
