Kelly Ripa To Name Co-Host

Hope it's not Ryan Seacrest!

When Seth Meyers was asked about taking over he didn't give a really definite "no" to the question. Anyone think that he might still be the one to replace Regis?

Or Ben Mulruny for that matter. (He likes to think of himself as the Canadian version of Ryan, but just might get picked up in the States for something big...)

Former Game Show Host or TV Actor that not doing a Show right know and Kelly Ripa gets co-host Sept. 4

A new era starts Sept. 4 at ”Live! With Kelly.” Kelly Ripa gets a sidekick.

Who will it be? I like Seth Meyers, but he is probably too busy at ”Saturday Night Live.”

Regis Philbin left in November. His replacement will be one of the 59 men and women who sat alongside Ripa since then.

Philbin and Ripa won hosting Emmys for their final season together. The new season starts Sept. 3 with Ripa solo.

”Live” airs at 9 a.m. weekdays on WESH-Channel 2.

I was hoping Kelly's real-life husband Mark Consuelos might be sitting next to her on "Live". Could be a real big surprise.

I think that's the person who will get the gig.

Besides, it could make the show a 21st-Century version of "Tex (McCrary) and Jinx (Falkenberg)" or "Mike (Wallace) and Buff (Cobb"), two husband-and-wife talk shows from the early days of television.

Nothing I've seen since Regis' departure has caught my interest enough to watch a full program. I feel I'm not alone, since the last ratings I saw in June had the show listed at #28.

I wonder how many stations have or will drop the show by this fall. I know WHAS in Louisville dropped the show last fall and created its own local clone called "Great Day Live" which is doing well in the ratings. I also believe the show is unavailable in Oklahoma City.

Maybe 'Great Day Live' will eventually be syndictated to Oklahoma City.

I hope it will not be her husband. I've yet to see a working couple on a show or movie not eventually get divorced. It is just too much pressure to live together and work together.

If this is true I'm just wondering how he's going to balance that and the Fox NFL studio show on the other side of the country.

It can be done...Strahan, I believe, still has a home in the New York area; When James Brown was working for Fox, he commuted every weekend from his home in Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles to do NFL Sunday (and he hosted America's Black Forum for years out of D.C. during much of that same time). Howie Long lives in Virginia, and he also commutes from there to L.A.

It's possible that they'll give Strahan Fridays off during the football season for his Fox duties.
