Kelsey Grammer

Let me throw a couple of things out there.

Kelsey Grammers character of Dr. Frasier Crane between Cheers and Frasier.
I know he joined Cheers later. How long did he carry the character for?I believe it is the longest character held in history by a single actor/actress.
How many episodes were there of Cheers and Frasier? I know it's about the same for each with Frasier being a little less because he did not want to go over the Cheers number.

Also while we are on the subject. I know the Simpsons just passed 500. I believe Married with Children had the previous record for episodes in a sitcom.
How many years was Tracy Ulmann on the air where The Simpsons is a spin-off from.
Anyone have any of these numbers?
Thanks.Its great trivia....

According to IMDb:

Cheers - 275 episodes total (KG appeared in 201 of those)
Frasier - 263 episodes total (KG listed for all 263)
John Larroquette Show - (KG as Frasier in 1 ep, 1995)
Wings - (KG as Frasier in 1 ep, 1992)
Disneyland 35th Anniversary - (KG as Frasier, 1990; other Cheers stars are listed on the page as their Cheers characters so there must have been some kind of Cheers-ish skit involved)
Mickey's 60th Birthday - (same as the Disneyland reference for the most part, 1988)

The total of all KG/Frasier eps is 468, but if only the fictional regularly-scheduled shows are counted, it would total 466.

*********************************************

Married... - 259 eps
Tracey Ullman Show - 79 eps (listing doesn't break down how many eps had Simpsons shorts in them)

*********************************************

With these numbers, I can't tell who had the record # of sitcom eps before The Simpsons.

James Arness appeared as Marshal Matt Dillon on 612 episodes of Gunsmoke.

One of my favorite trivia bits, Grammer is also the only person ever nominated for an Emmy for playing the same character on three different shows (Cheers, Frazier, and Wings).

For longest time an actress has been in the same role, would definitely be Helen Wagner (Nancy, As the World Turns), off and on for 51 years (not sure how many eps she's actually appeared in exactly).

Quite possibly thousands, given that she was more than often front and center in the 50s, 60s, and 70s, and even was able to log in some good amounts of screen time in the late 80s/early 90s with her marriage to the detective.
