KEMR - Moriarty

The AM-over-FM translator's 60 dBu contour cannot exceed a 40 km radius or the 2 mV/m radius - whichever is larger. FM coverage to the west will not reach all of Albuquerque by that criteria.

Considering the translator is using a directional Scala CL-FM antenna, Radio-Locator and the FCC have the accurate pattern. REC does not show directional stations very well. Plus the REC map shows the K271DC 60 dB signal far exceeding the AM 2 mV/m contour.
 
So, is Edgewood the largest population center in the translator's area of coverage? It does have a booming population, and a community based area radio station could work. It looks like they currently air High School sports for the area...

The 2020 census had Edgewood at a population of 6,174 while Moriarty has about 2,000 (15,000 for Torrance County) and a place called Sedillo on the eastern edge of Bernalillo County has around 1,000 although some of that area may be unincorporated. So yes it does appear that Edgewood is the most populated area although I think Moriarty High School is the only public high school in that area.

In Albuquerque the 102.1 frequency has a clash with K271CP for KNMM AM 1150 which listening earlier has interference problems. I have been able to hear KEMR in the background as well. Additionally there is also KQUQ-LP in the South Valley which I have never been able to pick up north of I-40.

That's a dual-bay Scala CLFM. This gives a 40 dB gain if you look at the FCC filing. Stacking that LP beyond two bays would create quite a wind load.

Thats what we use for KLMI-FM1 ... 2 CLFMs... but one mounted V and one is mounted H (if i recall from memory)

For the record, after his complaint posted here at the end of January, I attempted to reach out to him via PM, suggesting that, since I am on retainer to consult all of Don's stations in the state on programming, he might instead contact me directly, as I have ways of alerting Don quickly.
