Ken & Corey Out, Fitz In

Not to happy at all to hear this. just found out the wolf's Ken & Corey morning show will be out by the end of the month. Eddie King will stick around, but the station will be syndicating sister station KKWF morning show "Fitz In The Morning"....very very sad news. I love Ken & Corey. They have great chemistry together, and are hilarious. best wishes to both of them.

I am curious though as to why the show is getting the boot? They made that station. Within six months they brought there morning ratings from #22 to #6.

Money, why else? It's cheaper to "syndicate" Fit and keep King to essentially run the board than it is to run 2 separate morning shows.

Entercom never learns from their mistakes, however. A decade ago they "syndicated" Rob, Arnie & Dawn from Sacramento to replace Bob Rivers on KISW in Seattle - and that was a colossal flop. This latest move will probably have the same outcome.

Have you seen The Wolfs P18-49 or P25-54 numbers or even their 6 plus cume is under half a million (August PPM):'(? THE WOLF S.F. is road kill! But simulcasting the Seattle WOLF will "Not" help. San Francisco has proven not to be a Country market time after time If Entercom wants a success, Paxton would flip The Wolf to a Classic Hits station. Just copy K-EARTH and you'd have a million cume in 60 days. The Band would be dead in days. This could be the slow road to a flip of some kind. Time will tell.

This has been tried and has failed numerous times, and not just by Entercom. WiLD tried it with T-Man, way back in the day it was Mark & Brian on KRQR. They never came up to management expectations...except for the cheapness factor.

Can anyone on this board name any morning show that was syndicated in from outside the market that was a big hit?

Howard was pretty much the entire station, ratings wise when he was there. Like Rush for conservative talk, he's always been pretty much in a class by himself.

I don't know if this means anything, but I had a dream last night that the wolf flipped to Classic Hits, is it just wishful thinking?

Fitz started today on the wolf. Eddie King, who has been at the wolf since the beginning is now just being reduced to traffic updates 3-4 times an hour. No one was pleased either. There facebook page blew up with tons of hate messages about the new show.

Who ever was running the board in Seattle wasen't paying much attention either. I heard a promo for one of there upcoming segments, and at the end was tagged with "On the new 100.7 The Wolf". Oops

Does this mean that Mike Preston (ex-KFRC) is programming both the Seattle and San Francisco Wolfs (Wolves?) now?

They have been calling Seattle's wolf NEW since the launch five years ago.

And Mike Krinik took over the PD reign at SF Wolf in January.
