Few could equal Ken Dowe and Granny on KNUS in the 1970's.

But Dowe was no politician.

Like McLendon, he tried to launch a political career except in Oklahoma. Dowe aired conservative-slanted editorials on his light rock station in Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma Observer pointed out some of his shortcomings.
