Another legend in Oklahoma broadcasting has passed away. Ken Greenwood, long time president of the Swanco and later Swanson Broadcasting passed away last Wednesday. His funeral will be held at 1:30 this afternoon at St. John's Episcopal Church in Tulsa. Greenwood joined around 1961 when he and others sold KQEO Albuquerque and KLEO Wichita to Swanco. The announcement was in "Changing Hands" in Broadcasting October 2, 1961. He previously sold KIOA Des Moines to Gilbert O. Swanson and became VP of Swanco. A short time later he was named president. All of who had the privilege of working for Ken loved him and admired him. The same was true for his competitors as well.
