Hey, everyone..
It's been a while since I have frequented this forum, but I've recently been inspired to revisit. I see some of the same players are still around, even after 10 years, talking about the same stuff that doesn't really matter. I am sure it matters to the posters, of course. Some may know me personally. Some may not. But I am sure ALL will have an opinion......
Anyway, I ended up taking some time to upload an air check on the Zshare web hosting service. It's an 13 minute tape of my time doing mornings on Citadel's Ill-Fated Z100 Providence, circa, Spring/Summer 2000.
I still believe that it was "serendipity" that I ended up at Wampanoag Trail doing weekends at PRO-FM in the Fall 1999. Six months later, with timing and dumb luck (ok, MAYBE some talent) that I ended up doing mornings..at least for a short time, til this dual frequency station ended up Spanish and the FM side of 630WPRO. Personality conflicts and politics played into the demise of me, and then the station. Some close to the station know the story. Others will speculate. I am an open book, so feel free to blog away..... I still will always thank Tony Bristol for bringing me into the fold. He is a great guy, and never did I bash him in all the time after I worked for Citadel. I am sure some would say that I would have a hard time saying the same of others in the building at that time! Smiley
Take a listen.

It's stuff no one has probably heard in quite a long time. I welcome all opinions, criticisms, and critiques. While I haven't cracked a mic in close to 8 years, I do miss the creative aspect of the business, something that is rare to be found these days.... Growing up, I listened to Matty in the Morning from Boston, Chuck Stevens, the World's Oldest Living Teenager, and even Paul and Al (later I was honored to work at Eastern Avenue in the same studio as Fuller and Milukas!)
I hope everyone has a Happy 2011. Here's a wish that radio WILL someday be as fun as the above sounds.
Regards,
Ken Jackson
PS Those of you know how to contact me on Facebook, if they would like. Funny. 10 years ago, Facebook didn't exist. And now, it's everyone's favorite time-waster!! LOL
