Ken Kohl's replacement (like you care)

Re: Ken Kohl's replacement...

That's a familiar name... Did he ever work at KFI in
Los Angeles as a talk show producer?

I'm pretty sure he did work at KFI at some point... His most recent market (before Sacto) was Denver, but I know he's been all around.<P ID="signature">______________

I'm not 100% sure of his exact position, but Alan worked under Ken Kohl when Mr. Kohl was the PD at KFI. LARadio.com says that Ken was at KFI from 1987-1989.

Indeed Ken Kohl was the PD who took KFI to the talk format. If I'm not mistaken
Alan Eisenson may have been Tom Leykis' producer for a time when he was doing the afternoon shift at AM640. Kohl wasn't exactly Mr. Popular with the KFI employees when he was there. in 1999 when KFI was acquired by AM/FM before the CC merger they had a meeting with the staffs of KFI & KOST, and when told that Kohl was AM/FM's go to guy for AM stations in the chain a collective groan went out among the crowd... Alan Eisenson was for the most part a well liked guy.
I believe he left KFI to become the PD in a smaller market somewhere east...

Kohl wasn't exactly Mr. Popular with the KFBK/KSTE employees when he was there either :). Popularity does not equal ratings. It's refreshing to see some folks come back to KFBK/KSTE that were once driven away by Mr. Kohl. We'll see what the future holds for CC Sac.

I don't know where Mr. Eisenson went directly from KFI, but he was once PD of WEVD/1050 in New York City. At the time, the station was trying hard to transition out of brokered talk into general market talk.

Among others once heard on 1050 before ESPN Radio bought it - Alan Colmes, co-host of Fox News Channel's "Hannity and Colmes", and host of his own syndicated late night show. In fact, Colmes was the last voice on the station before it became "ESPN 1050".

Mr. Eisenson's most recent stop before Sacramento was as PD of KNRC/1150 Denver, which tried to mount a brand new talk format under the ownership of billionaire Phillip Anschutz with a mostly local talk schedule. One of Mr. Eisenson's hosts there had connections to Ethan Way (and Olson Drive earlier) - former KSTE host Enid Goldstein.
