Kennedy Coverage

Both WJAR and WPRI (still on as of the typing of this post) just covered a press conference concerning Patrick Kennedy (and just now Kennedy is speaking to the press; WBZ, WHDH, and WFXT jumped on board with WJAR returning). WCVB did not come on with it (so much for being #1 in their area) and I am really angered by the fact that WLNE, once again, did not air anything. Come on guys, you have the Rhode Island News Channel (not sure if breaking news coverage was aired just there). Know what? You don't even deserve the Rhode Island News Channel. It saddens me to put these guys down, but don't all of you feel that WLNE should make a change (even though this is what all of you expect from WLNE)? Don't you want them to break out of the norm and surprise us one day, even if nobody will tune in? WLNE could at least change its image just to look good. Unfortunately, there probably isn't anything logical that WLNE can do to boost ratings, or make money to change its image, although I want there to be and I don't know.

For the record, WPRI was FIRST on the air with the news that Congressman Kennedy entered a guilty plea. Mike Montecalvo was on the air around 11:40 a.m. today with the Kennedy news.
