Radio One Promotes George Lindsey To OM
RADIO ONE/LOUISVILLE Hot AC WXMA (102.3 THE MAX)/LOUISVILLE PD/morning show host GEORGE LINDSEY has been promoted to OM[EDIT]

[EDIT-citation truncated because its size violates Fair Use protocols. Unauthorized use of copyprotected material is in violation of our Terms of Service.]

George Lindsey, the radio guy, shares the same name with actor George Lindsey, who played Goober on
"The Andy Griffith Show". Hence the Goober reference.

Wlrs even when they were at 102.3 they have always had trmendous turnover always for years and years but on 105.1 they have even more i guess pople do not see that as a very stable place to work!!!They really should flip one of the frequencies it really is silly to have that station on 2 signals. If they keep wlrs i would suggest make it into an alternative station like the sound in cincinnati they play a little of the harder stuff but mix it with some older cure and the like. What will happen next in the raio-one fam stay tuned?

Why start betting on his demise so soon? George is a good guy, he'll probably last a long time....at least as long as the GM there. And that GM has been there since before Radio One owned it.

George Lindsay is a smart radio guy. Sounds like a good person for the job. Is barry Fox still available? Barry? You there?

he knows his stuff, but, i wouldn't exactly call him smart.. unless a smart radio guy is someone who does everything his consultant tells him to!

Actually, that sounds about right. Most corporations would find it counter-productive to employ someone who did not comply with the person whom they have hired as an authority.

George Lyndsay realizes MORNINGS are the MOST important daypart. Mornings. Music. marketing. You'd think most PD's would know the three M's. When I was at Radio One one of my PD's was clueless about Morning Radio...which is why rating tanked as soon as his clueless ass set up shop.

Go george Go!
