Kentworthy/Gill out at WEWS

What happened over at channel 5?

Both morning show anchors (Pete Kentworthy and Kimberly Gill) were axed after today's show.

I thought they were doing a solid job, so what happened?

Is this a $$ deal?

See my updated item ("Kenworthy", by the way, only one "t").

Basically, lagging ratings combined with the end of the contract for both anchors.

As far as I know, Curtis Jackson is just filling in. There doesn't appear to be a known plan (outside of ND Jill Manuel's office doors) to replace them right now.

Pete and Kim both deserve to stay at 5. They were really good on the morning show. It will be interesting to see what they'll do with the morning show in the future. What's also funny is that 19 still has their team despite the ratings.

8 and 3 must have been beating out 5 in the ratings. That's what might have led to their dismissals. 5 has also been a revolving door in anchors and reporters among other staffers, especially with Good Morning Cleveland. Almost every year, there seems to be a new morning team.
