KEPG, Victoria

Another change to note to Victoria, or is this a stunt? 100.9 KEPG the beat is now Rock format "the bar" does anyone know if they are going to keep that format? Looks like that wouldnt be a smart choice of formats, since Victoria now does not have a hiphop outlet. ???

I have a feeling they were hit by lightning. I noticed it too, but I thought I heard them say "the box". the signal was also very scetchy, like it was fade from another station.

It seemed like they were in low power, I could only get them in the City, not sure if it might of been someones fm transmitter, but they said the new 100.9 rock "keep on rockin" also. I wonder if they ever got their tower raised? They had a CP for a class C3 station.

Are you sure it is not country and rock -- there is a new consultant created country/rock format called "the Bar". It was launched last year on KPBR 105.9 in Billings MT (http://www.1059thebar.com/).

Like Movin', Jack, Bob, etc. I would think the name has been service marked.

Lets please not another country station! But it was playing a classic rock track, but I dont think it is rockin country. I heard them play alice and chains also.

Yep, I just got got confirmation from one VRW employees that they flipped to mainstream rock thursday night. Which as you know, we never really had a true mainstream rock station. KLUB bills themselves as a classic rock station, even though the do play some new rock. I wonder if one of VRW other stations...maybe the oldies station, will flip to hip-hop.

I think KITE has a pretty decent amount of listeners, It probably was good for Victoria to have a mainstream rock station, hiphop is really over played everywere. What day did they acually flip do you know?

Thursday night. I wonder what's up with the signal though. I can barely get it in Port Lavaca.

They seemed to have regain some of the power but it doesnt sound very good yet as far as the sound quality goes, I know they had a CP to a class C3 station, wonder if that ever went through.?

They've still got the CP (issued in July of 2006), although there's no license to cover shown in the FCC database. That could mean they're doing some final tweaking. The contour of the new signal is flattened out in an east and southeasterly direction to protect KLOL Houston at 101.1 and an allocation for a new station at Palacios on 100.7, so Port Lavaca now lies on the fringe of the "service area" (60dBu contour): www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/FMTV-service-area?x=FM1128442.html
Looks like the call letters were changed to KBAR-FM on May 28th.
