KERX press release

A Fort Smith area station has made a bold programming move in an effort to create a unique format that combines the best of rock, country and blues, operating under the premise of “We Play Anything”.
Debuting under the banner of 95.3 The Rebel, KERX radio made the switch in late December from a new rock format. The new play list features a wide gamut of artists from all three genres in an eclectic mix of music that has to fit certain criteria, according to general manager Tommy Craft.
“The songs we play have to be familiar, up tempo and have an attitude,” Craft said. “Any song we play has to meet at least two of those categories to even be considered.”
The play list includes country artists like Toby Keith, Johnny Cash, Montgomery Gentry and Gretchen Wilson, with rock elements that include Lynard Skynard, AC-DC, George Thorogood , The Fabulous Thunderbirds and Kid Rock. The blues element features Kenny Wayne Shepard, Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughn and B.B. King, among others.
“We’re different,” said Craft. “We call ourselves ‘The Station With Attitude’ and in researching the new station, we haven’t found anyone else in the country doing what we’re doing. We truly feel like we’re bringing something new and exciting to the table.”
Ray Miler is the program director for 95.3 The Rebel.
The Rebel, licensed to Paris, is a sister station to ESPN Sports Radio 96.3. Craft says the two stations offer listeners and sponsors a good variety of programming in a “non-corporate” setting.
“We’re excited, and we plan to be a locally oriented company and be truly involved in all aspects of the community,” said Craft. “We think we really have a lot to offer with both stations.”
The website for the new station is 953therebel.com.

From the description, it would be alot like KZPS 92.5 in Dallas.

Or Crock 92.7 in Terre Haute, Indiana. Good luck with it...it could be great if done right with great consideration given to music selection. I've listened to Crock online and don't think they're doing that great of a job with it.
