At least Bean doesn't have to drive to work - according to the story below, he's baking Toll House cookies in his jammies at his Seattle-area house while on the air... http://www.seattletimes.com/pacific-...fantasy-house/
Here is the correct link to Beans House on Vashon Island. His house does have a very nice water view of the inner harbor. I might add that he also has a front seat view to 710ESPN towers witch adds to the charm of the harbor. The towers for CBS sports radio are just to the right of the 710 towers. http://www.seattletimes.com/pacific...ewel-box-homeowner-says-of-her-fantasy-house/
I wondered if they left out a full water view because it's tough to take a picture from that part of the harbor without getting a radio tower in the picture. There are four AM transmitters within 3 miles of his house.
Not only does he have a killer view of the 710 towers built in 1941, he is also in a good spot to listen to Vashon Islands LPFM station, KVSH-LP, known as Voice of Vashon, it also on the WEB at http://voiceofvashon.org/
No Bean is not on the air on VoV, VoV has a great team of volunteers which Bean is friends with a some. His family fits in and participates with our community.
Also might add that C-link was able to provide ISDN to his house. I know of 2 other people that do Voice work on the Island via ISDN.
I have lived out here since 1970 when my parents moved here when I was six. Now I maintain 3 of those AM transmitters on the Island. My drive to work involves 3 stop signs, 4 if I'm going to the diplexed site CBS uses.
